Dogs want Happy
Is your dog
happy?
Dogs want Happy
Find out.
Happy changes behavior.
Now that's the science I like! :)
Have you experienced it?
You can do it. Are you willing?
Intentionally making a connection causes you to pay attention.

When is your dog happy?
Thinking in values...
...creates peaceful space.
Training with values, is simply a way to categorize our dogs needs, so that we can think of a way to provide the need.
It creates a space in your mind between the problem and possible solutions.

Thinking in values...
...creates a peaceful space.
It looks like this.

Creating a space in your mind between the problem and the possible solutions gives you time to evaluate each possible solution to make sure it's
1. The value my dog needs.
2. Something you have resources to to do.
3. Something that makes sense.
4. Something you are willing to do.
5. Something that fits into your own personal values.

Thinking this way creates a shorter path in our brain than thinking directly in methods, techniques, and established learning theories. That thought path can be overwhelming due to conflicting dog training methods, confusing terminology and the fact that this line of study, may not currently be part of your life. Your area of expertise is probably something completly different.

Although our personal definition of specific values may be different. That's okay.
We don't need to do it exactly in a way that can work for our neighbors be cause we are only concerned about our dog in our home. Dogs are individuals, not a dot on a line in a controlled scientific study.
If Trixie is shut-down from a previous life, she could use some Love.
We'll concentrate on exercises that increase love and bonding.

If Jake is over-energetic and bouncing off the walls, he could use some Peace. We'll practice calming and relaxation exercises.

If Daisy is guarding her food, she needs some Respect so we don't cause her to be uncomfortable and bite. We will work on two way boundaries and possible underlying conditions.

If Sandy hides during fireworks, she could use some Understanding that noise is not something tragic.

If Fluffy is scared, we'll help her build Trust. We'll work on confidence building and independence.

If Buddy has a sad expression, we'll take the time to check all possible underlying reasons and provide what he needs to find Happiness.

If Rex is annoyed and rebelling because of so many rules, we'll teach him to say yes and no. this can give him the Freedom to choose many of his activities, toys, paths to take and flavors of food to eat. We take these freedoms for granted. Dog's like them too.

Words are powerful
Why happy?
Because dogs that are in a calm happy state of mind are living their best life. They have no worries to deal with. They have no bullies chasing them, they have their basic needs met and they are allowed to show their personalities, make choices and communicate.

You want happy too.
Sometimes we don't think it's possible. Sometimes we are so certain we can never obtain the level of happiness we want, we forget it's what we are striving for. Sometimes we believe happy is in the future not the present.
Happiness is a choice.
There is some conflicting science on this statement. My view is, if we make a clear, conscious choice to be happy, we are going to be more likely, than less likely to get what we want.

Even one little step counts. If we choose happy, we'll begin to make different decisions in our day-to-day lives. We may even change our personal definition of what it means to us, to be happy.

For our brains...
When we think about Happy, instead of thinking about dog training our thought process changes. If we show our dogs we are happy, they'll follow our lead.

For our dogs brains...
Happiness is a chemical reaction in our brain. The the happy circuit is stimulated, brain chemicals are released that cause dogs to be calm and put fear, anger and frustration to the side.

When we help dogs practice that feeling. The happy circuits become stronger and the angry, fearful, anxious circuits become weaker.

We accomplish this by proven rhythm that helps brains process without confusion.
